Choosing a Window Manager
Each distribution has a slightly different way to determine the default window manager. One of the most common ways is to place exec window-manager as the last line in ${ HOME} / .Xclients, where window-manager is the window manager's executable. If this doesn't work, see "X Window System Start-Up" in Chapter 5.
