What Is Package Management?
The package management system is the part of your Linux system that enables you to install, uninstall, and manage the software on your machine. If you are familiar with Microsoft Windows 95, this is similar to the Add/Remove Programs option in the Windows Control Panel, though in Linux, it is generally much more flexible and easier to query.
