The underlying setup of LPRng is quite stable and rarely, if ever, needs tweaking. In fact, the RFC (request for comment document) that defines how BSD printing is supposed to work is adhered to more strongly by LPRng than by many commercial implementations of the BSD lpr/lpd print spooling system.
