Debian System Administration Tools
Having looked at the Caldera system administration tools and perhaps the tools available for Red Hat or even other systems, you're probably expecting something similar for Debian. If you are, I'm afraid this particular section will be a disappointment to you.
The Debian system has only one official tool for administering the distribution in the form of dpkg. This tool is principally a package manager. But dpkg, although powerful, is incredibly difficult for neophytes to the system. So Debian has a couple of front ends available to help out in the form of dselect and apt. You can do nearly everything you need using one of these two tools.
