So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
FTP Overview
The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is quite simple to use but rather powerful in its capability to facilitate the transfer of files or data between two systems. With many networking protocols and file sharing systems designed and developed subsequent to FTP, it still stands as the most popular method for remotely transferring files. Several FTP servers exist. Several distributions use what is perhaps the most widely used version of FTP, wu-ftp, which was developed at Washington University in St. Louis (see http://www.wu-ftpd.org for more details). Caldera and Red Hat use this by default. Debian also has this available. Other FTP servers include the netkit FTP server and ProFTPd.
