Resilience is widely regarded as the ability to persevere in the face of stressors and to bounce back from setbacks (Reivich & Shatte, 2002). It is connected to psychological well-being, development, success, and happiness. People who are not born resilient can become so. When faced with a difficult situation, people may revert to pessimistic beliefs and behavior.
