I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
TRANSFORMATIONAL LEARNING: JACK MEZIROW
Mezirow’s cognitive-rational approach to transformational learning is based, in part, on the work of Paulo Freire. According to Mezirow (2000), adult education should lead to empowerment. Knowledge is created from interpretations and reinterpretations in light of new experiences. Mezirow (p. 7) states
[T]ransformative learning refers to the process by which we transform our taken-for-granted frames of reference (meaning perspectives, habits of mind, mind-sets) to make them more inclusive, discriminating, open, emotionally capable of change, and reflective. … Transformative learning involves participation in constructive discourse to use the experience of others to assess reasons justifying these assumptions, ...
