WHO SHOULD BE ASSESSED, AND HOW?

Closely following these considerations, or aligned with them, is the question of who should participate in the assessment. Is self-report data likely to provide the necessary awareness, for example, or would multirater assessment better facilitate breakthrough insights? These issues are best addressed through the coach’s mindful reflection on the particular engagement and through collaboration with the client and, where appropriate, the client’s organization. In making these decisions, it is important to be aware of the danger of “survey fatigue,” both for other raters and the client.
