Issues of Gender

Karen Tweedie and Leni Wildflower

Sally Helgesen (1995), Deborah Tannen (1990, 1994), and Carol Gilligan (1982), among other feminist researchers, argue that there is a culture specific to the female gender. Helgesen states that there are qualities women leaders bring to organizations. Tannen postulates that men and women have different ways of speaking, both in their personal and professional lives.
