JOHN GRINDER AND RICHARD BANDLER: NEURO-LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a set of tools for communication that was developed during the 1970s by John Grinder and Richard Bandler.

Grinder and Bandler began by analyzing the linguistic strategies of two highly effective therapists, Fritz Perls and Virginia Satir. They observed the way these therapists challenged the utterances of their clients in three specific ways—identifying distortions, generalizations, and deletions—thereby leading the clients to look beneath the surface structure of their utterances and recognize the underlying deep structure.
