Checkpoints (2.5.5)
In order to ease administration of virtual environments, Hyper-V offers a variety of options and capabilities. Among them are Checkpoints (formerly Snapshots). I am not mistaken if I call it the Hyper-V's Restore Point. Whenever you want to install a new app on your virtual machine and want to avoid unwanted post-installation situations, then you have the checkpoint option available to you. This option enables you to make a copy of the disk image at a specific time so that, when unexpected situations occur you can revert your virtual machine to a previous state. However, checkpoints are not recommended for production use, only for development and test environments.
