I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Setting up virtual networks (2.5.4)
In an attempt to establish an infrastructure in a virtual environment prior to creating virtual machines, virtual switches are required. There are three types of virtual switch available in Hyper-V:
- External switch: This binds the physical network adapter so that the virtual machines can access the physical network
- Internal switch: This can be used only by the virtual machines that run on the physical server, and between virtual machines and the physical server
- Private switch: This can be used only by the virtual machines that run on the physical server
To create a virtual switch with Hyper-V Manager in Windows Server 2016, complete the following steps:
- In the Actions pane, click Virtual Switch Manager... ...
