It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The Print and Document Services role
Print and Document Services (PDS) is a service that enables centralized printing on the network. Of course, PDS offers more than just the network printing service, such as services for document scanning. With the scanning service, users receive scanned documents from the network scanner and send them to the network shared resources. Usually, PDS is added as a role in Windows Server 2016 as in Figure 5.20:
