In the world of IT, best practices are well-defined methods that are applied whenever problems occur. Best practices are basically based on past practices whenever a method has been shown to be successful in solving similar problems. However, the phrase best is relative as the problems are unique too. This means that while the same problem can be solved by the same method in a particular infrastructure, the same does not necessarily apply to another infrastructure. For that reason, in establishing good practices, practices are subject to a process that consists of a number of significant steps that are intended to filter the practices in such a way as to ascertain that they fulfill the criteria to be called best practices. ...
