I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
User rights, NTFS permissions, and share permissions (2.4.7)
First, let us try to understand what user rights and permissions are. If you open the Properties of a folder in any Windows OS and then click on the Security tab, you will notice that under the Group and Usernames section you can see the Permissions for the <user> section. That section lists the following permission types:
- Full control: Allows reading, writing, modifying, executing, changing attributes and permissions, and deleting files and subfolders
- Modify: Allows viewing, modifying, adding and deleting files and subfolders
- Read and Execute: Allows running and executing files
- List folder contents: Allows viewing data files and a list of a folder's content
