Boot loader is a program that loads the OS kernel into RAM and is located in the MBR. In Windows OSs, there are two types of boot loaders: NTLDR and BOOTMGR. NT Loader (NTLDR) is the old Windows boot loader used in Windows NT to Windows Server 2003, while Boot Manager (BOOTMGR) and is the newest Windows boot loader. It is used in Windows Vista to Windows Server 2016.
