It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Systematic versus specific approach (6.4.4)
In general, the troubleshooting process and problem-solving techniques recognize two methods:
- Systematic approach: An effective troubleshooting methodology because it is based on structured steps toward solving the problem, regardless of the type of problem.
- Specific approach: Based primarily on knowledge and preliminary experience of solving the same/similar problems. In this approach, guesswork comes into play.
