I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Local policies (3.4.5)
So far, what we've explained about GPOs applies to computer and user accounts for both domain-based networks, and standalone, non-domain computers. Unlike GPMC, which we are using to set up GPOs in an AD environment, to configure Local Group Policies (Local GPOs) you should use the Local Group Policy Editor. You can access the Local Group Policy Editor and configure Local GPOs as follows:
- Press the combination of Windows key + R.
- Enter gpedit.msc in the text box, and press OK.
- The Local Group Policy Editor is displayed as in Figure 7.6:
