I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Event filtering (6.4.8)
As you might have noticed, the Event Viewer generates an enormous number of logs. Therefore, to be more pragmatic in finding the right information that would help in overcoming the issues, event filtering becomes part of best practices. However, you have to be very careful when setting Event Logs filtering criteria. Setting the wrong filtering criteria will cause you to get filtered results that will not help you find the right information to overcome the issues. To filter Event Viewer logs in Windows Server 2016, complete the following steps:
- Press Windows key + R, enter eventvwr.msc, and press Enter.
- Expand Windows Logs and select the log type that you want to filter.
- In the Actions pane, click Filter Current Log... ...
