System administrators can use Folder Redirection to redirect the folder on a local computer, or a shared folder on a network, to a new location. With Folder Redirection, the data that is stored on the server will be accessed by users in a similar fashion to how it would be if it was stored on a local computer.
In Windows Server 2016, you can create a GPO as in Figure 10.9 to redirect a folder. The steps are as follows:
