This is the final element of the basics of visual design that we will discuss. When we talk about forms, we are usually referring to the elements that are of a three-dimensional nature.

For an element to be called a form, it needs to have three basic components: height, width, and depth.

Most of the things that surrounds us are created from form, starting with basic elements such as pens and pencils to the human body; all have form.

In visual design, we use form to define or describe a specific space or contrast and to add volume to a composition.
