Textures

Textures are an important part of creating a proper visual design. They are associated with what they look or feel like.

Everything that we see around us has some kind of texture. For example, when we touch physical things, we can determine whether they are smooth, rough, shiny, or even silky. So, we feel their texture when we touch those physical things.

However, what about the textures that we can only see but not feel, for example, digital designs? Well, these kinds of textures, which we cannot feel but see, are known as implied or visual textures.

This kind of texture is usually created to get the attention of the users visually or for creating a focal point in a composition.
