We already know that color is light; the range of the wavelength that we receive in our eye creates the visual spectrum.
For example, when the light shines on a specific object, some of this light's wavelength can be observed by our eyes and the others are reflected. So, the reflected wavelengths can be seen as colors.
When all the wavelengths lights are absorbed, then we see dark, which is the color black, whereas when all the wavelengths lights are reflected, we see the color white.
This can be better explained by the Munsell color system. This system was created by a Professor Albert Munsell in the early part of the 20th century.
