Using shapes

In the Using lines section, we have already mentioned that shapes can be created by a combination of one or more lines; also, they can be created using differences in colors or textures.

Shapes can be represented visually by natural elements, or can be man-made. They can be regular or irregular, organic or inorganic, angular or round, big or small, open or closed, and even two-dimensional or three-dimensional.

Icons, symbols, textures, and colored spaces are examples of shapes.

Shapes can be categorized in different ways, for example, polygons can be classified based on the number of angles or edges. Other common shapes are points, lines, planes, and conic sections such as ellipses and circles:
