106 – Getting to the Root of a Problem
Purpose/Objectives: This exercise provides an opportunity for the
participants to apply problem-solving/decision-making
techniques to their own job situations. Managers and
supervisors are asked to choose a current problem that
they are confronting. Then they will break down that
problem into a series of sequential steps in order to
solve it. By analyzing the problem in this way, they are
able to “try out” their learned techniques and get
feedback from their peers concerning their proposed
actions. They are able to see how carefully analyzing a
problem helps clarify what is really happening.
