THE 56 KBIT/S MODEM (V.90)
The 56 kbit/s modem is the next step up from the V.34 modem. My description of this technology is based on the ITU-T V.90 Recommendation, [WEXL98], and a paper by P. Michael Henderson [HEND96].[5] I recommend Mr. Henderson's work to those readers who wish to delve into the details of 56 kbit/s modems.
