Things can become quite confusing when examining MGCP and other Internet-based VoIP protocols, described in more detail in Chapter 10. Therefore, before we move to a detailed analysis of SGCP, let's pause for a moment to comment on several other multimedia protocols. They are: (a) The Session Description Protocol (SDP), (b) The Session Announcement Protocol (SAP), (c) The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), and (d) The Real-Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP).
