THE RELIABLE SIGNALING GATEWAY PROTOCOL (RSGP)
The Framework model sets the stage for the Reliable Signaling Gateway Protocol (RSGP), as defined in [HOLD98]. RSGP encompasses the SS7-Internet Access Signaling Protocol (ASP) [MAT99], so we need not explain ASP separately here.
RSGP uses the Framework as a model, but separates the gateway from the NAS, and establishes RSGP as the protocol between the gateway and the NAS. This configuration is shown in Figure 10-4.
