MEDIA GATEWAY CONTROL PROTOCOL (MGCP)
The Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP) is in the Internet draft stages. The current version (version 0.1) integrates the Simple Gateway Control Protocol (SGMP) and the Internet Protocol Device Control (IPDC) specification. It is quite similar to SGMP, but provides several features beyond that offered by SGMP. For those readers who wish more detail on the specifications, I refer you to [ARAN98], [ARAN98a], and [TAYL98].
