I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Exploring Stackdriver metrics
Throughout this book we've seen that the Google Cloud Console provides metrics dashboards in the respective interfaces for many of its products and services, including App Engine, Compute Engine, and Cloud SQL. These dashboards provide an at-a-glance overview of the state of their underlying resources with basic settings, such as time frame and key metric types.
Comparatively, Stackdriver Monitoring provides access to a much broader set of metrics, along with the ability to create graphs that combine various metrics to provide meaningful insights. To get started, click Resources | Metrics Explorer in the left navigation pane. From here, we can specify one of any tracked resource types and a related metric.
