Standard machine types increase in steps, doubling both vCPU and RAM from n1-standard-2 to n1-standard-64, where the trailing number represents the number of vCPUs for the given machine type. The largest standard machine type currently available is n1-standard-96, with 96 vCPUs and 360 GB of RAM, though this machine type is currently in beta.
