When to choose GKE
GCP provides several different services to assist in running computational workloads. These include Compute Engine, App Engine Standard, App Engine Flex, Cloud Functions, and Kubernetes Engine. There's a large amount of criteria that can be used to match the most applicable service, or services, to a given workload.
Of course, if you are already running container workloads using Kubernetes on premises, and wish to migrate those workloads to running in the cloud, adopting GKE is an easy decision.
