So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Replicas and high availability
A commonly used feature of both MySQL and PostgreSQL is replications. Cloud SQL has built in support for both read-only replicas and failover replicas. The implementation details and feature sets of replications and high availability vary between first and second generation MySQL instances, as well as PostgreSQL instances. Both failover and read-only replicas require that an instance have both automated backups and binary logging enabled.
