Internal load balancing
TCP and UDP load balancers allow systems to remain highly available by spreading a load across zones within a single region, but so far we’ve only looked at how these load balancers can serve external requests. In order to provide the same level of availability to internal-facing services, Google Cloud Platform supports internal load balancing. Internal load balancing allows load balancing to occur within the confines of a VPC, without exposing private services outside of the network. This makes it a great tool for facilitating resilience and scalability in internal services, such as the backend services of a traditional three-tiered architecture.
