In addition to Regional and Multi-Regional Storage, Cloud Storage sometimes classifies buckets and objects as Standard or Durable Reduced Availability. These storage classes have for the most part been replaced with Multi-Regional and Regional Storage, though they are still used in some cases.
If a bucket is created without specifying a default storage class, Cloud Storage will set the storage class as STANDARD. Depending on whether that bucket is created in a Regional or Multi-Regional location, the bucket will then assume the behavior of that storage class.
