Stackdriver Trace
The rise in popularity of microservice architectures has introduced several new challenges for developers. One such challenge is the need to track requests across potentially many services. This has given rise to several distributed tracing tools and standards. Google has contributed heavily to this space, publishing the Dapper white paper in 2010, which outlined Google's internal tracing infrastructure. Today, Google offers Stackdriver Trace as a core product of the Google Cloud Platform.
