Custom machine types can be configured with up to 6.5 GB of RAM per vCPU. Higher ratios of RAM to vCPU are possible, though they carry additional costs. Extended memory makes it possible to assign any amount of RAM per vCPU, though total RAM is capped on a per-VM basis. This cap starts at 455 GB per VM, but may be exceeded based on the underlying processor. For example, VMs using Skylake processors support up to 624 GB or RAM per VM.
