So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Database design and optimizations
Cloud Spanner offers most of the features developers have come to expect from relational databases. Data is organized into tables and rows, tables follow rigid schemas, and columns are strongly typed. However, in order to achieve horizontal scalability, Cloud Spanner does sacrifice some features common to other relational database systems. When designing databases on Cloud Spanner, there are a few concepts that should be considered.
