I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Watchers
Watchers observe values within the runtime configuration, and notify their invoker whenever those values change. Watchers are implemented as long-lived API operations, meaning a variable is watched through the action of issuing an API request. The request will hang for up to 60 seconds, until one of three conditions are met:
- If the variable changes, the response contains the new value and a variable state of UPDATED
- If the variable is deleted, the response returns a variable state of DELETED
- If the request times out, the response returns a variable state of VARIABLE_STATE_UNSPECIFIED
