July 5Seize Risk
For, so inconsistent is human nature, especially in the ideal, that not to undertake a thing at all seems better than to undertake and come short.
Harriet Beecher Stowe—Uncle Tom's Cabin (1852)
The entrepreneur is often seen as the ultimate risk taker—but only when the notion of risk is sorely misapplied. Careless, reckless, uncontrollable risk might be more closely aligned with seemingly steady employment.
Many entrepreneurs don't risk enough.
Risk stimulates your growth toward perfection. Not perfection in the sense of some sort of completeness, but the perfection that's aligned with living the life you were meant to lead, the service you were meant to render, the relief you were meant to contribute.
Stasis breeds mediocrity—your soul thrives on risk.
How are you rationalizing avoiding taking the risks you must take in order to fully realize your dream for fear of coming up short or some imagined version of failure?
Today, determine to remove your resistance to change; grab a risk, and experience taking it.
You can start very small—have a conversation you've been avoiding—have it and witness the growth bursting inside you.
Now, take that feeling and go knock down a wall.
