October 6Ready or Not
Weep not that the world changes—did it keep / A stable, changeless state, ‘twere cause indeed to weep.
William Cullen Bryant—“Mutation: A Sonnet” (1862)
Not all change is good; it's just inevitable. In your entrepreneurial journey, you may encounter change that creates hardship, outdates your business, or comes at a great financial cost.
Change on your terms is one thing—but what about change over which you have no control?
Ready or not, change is going to happen. So how we grow and mature with change is the key to how we survive it. While change for the sake of change may prove risky, resistance to the seeming inevitable may cost you everything.
Change, especially hard change, creates resilience. Change can force us to get better. Change can create opportunity.
Growth and progress require change. So keep your head up, look for signs on the changing horizon, and lead through it.
It's okay to miss the good old days; just don't live in them.
