“I make my circumstances” is a statement easier made by some than others, but there's an essential element of truth in this argument.

Those born to poverty without the support of loving parents or the opportunity for education have fewer options from which to make their circumstances. Survival decisions make for different choices than say, career choices.

But to make your circumstances, in either case, is to suggest that all individuals have the power to see beyond their current limiting conditions.

The belief that you have this power doesn't change your situation, but it allows you to dream and, in doing so, multiplies your opportunities no matter your current plight. It frees those around you to dream, and it taps the collective capacity of the universe to help you build a story greater than your current one.

No doubt this task takes faith. Day to day, rock by rock, it might not seem possible. First, you must determine to make it so by making daily decisions that support a better set of circumstances.
