January 20Truthful Adherence
What I mean by the Muse is that unimpeded clearness of the intuitive powers, which a perfectly truthful adherence to every admonition of the higher instincts would bring to a finely organized human being. It may appear as prophecy or as poesy … and should these faculties have free play, I believe they will open new, deeper and purer sources of joyous inspiration than have as yet refreshed the earth.
Margaret Fuller—Woman in the Nineteenth Century (1845)
When you think about how you want to live your life, do you ever get a sense of deep insecurity about a particular aspect of it? Do you worry about what others might think?
It's funny how much stock we put in what others think, yet we immediately dismiss the clarity of our own intuitive powers to determine how we should live.
You must trust your inner beingness, “your Muse,” because little else actually matters.
Today, ignore the echo of outside forces (even those living only in your head) and live and breathe in complete harmony with who you are.
