March 2Feeling Beauty
Only get rid altogether of your nonsensical trash about the beautiful, which I nor nobody else, nor yourself to boot, could ever understand,—only free yourself of that, and your success in life is as sure as daylight.
Nathaniel Hawthorne—Mosses from an Old Manse (1846)
When asked about beauty, most turn to physical features or images, but what makes you feel beauty? Is it happiness, kindness, soulfulness? Is it something you strive for or something you sense in joyful moments?
Have you ever noticed a photo of someone who on the surface may not have met with what would be seen as beauty by common societal standards? And yet, there was something stunning about that person's expression, messy hair and all.
Maybe beauty is something we do.
Today, make your beauty a gift to the world.
