March 7To Inspire Another
There is a magic in free speaking, especially on sacred themes, most potent and resistless. It is refreshing, amidst the inane common-places bandied in pulpits and parlors, to hear a hopeful word from an earnest, upright soul. People rally around it as to the lattice in summer heats, to inhale the breeze that flows cool and refreshing from the mountains, and invigorates their languid frames.
Amos Bronson Alcott—“Orphic Sayings” (1840)
The success of an entrepreneurial vision often relies on attracting others who share or who are inspired by that vision.
Eloquently expressing that vision in ways that encourage and invigorate is central to the growth of any venture, no matter the ultimate measure of growth.
To inspire another to back a venture, join a team, or buy a product is the job of the entrepreneur stripped to its barest scope.
Certainly, a trained orator has some advantage is this regard, but the authenticity of belief and simplicity of passion inspires far more thoroughly than a practiced act ever can.
Speak freely and often. Tell people what you believe is true today, tell them where you want to go and how you want to make a difference, the audacious thing you know can be done. There is no need to convince.
Today, let people hear and feel your words and let them be inspired to act, join, and share.
