In some cases, however, the designer wants to make sure that the
player cannot ee a battle, especially against major villains or in bat-
tles where the player is trying to get some quest item. One approach
is to assign the ee value to the enemy involved in the combat, with
very tough enemies having very low ee values and major villains
having a ee value of 0. To alert the player that a combat cannot be
ed, the ee option can be grayed out so the player can’t select it.
