One way to restrict movement is to allow travel between major
locations only by using a strategic world map and forbidding entry
to new locations until the current chapter of the story is nished. It
is possible by the end of the game to open up the game world and
allow the player access to all locations, but by then most of the new
discoveries have already been revealed so there is little novelty in
visiting these same areas again.
