何時使用
使用者即將執行一件「成本很高」的動作 — 例如開啟很大的檔案、列印十頁的文
件、送出一份花很多時間填寫的表單、或透過全球資訊網送出購物清單。使用者想
要先確定一切正確，才真正開始動作。因為一旦做出錯誤的動作，會很浪費時間或
者花費其他昂貴的成本。
或者，使用者即將進行某些難以預測的外觀改變，例如對相片套用某個濾鏡；因而
想提前知道改變效果是否會讓他滿意。
為何使用
預覽有助於預防錯誤。使用者可能打字錯誤、因為誤解而導致動作出問題（像是線
上購物時買 錯東西）。 但如果對使 用者呈現摘 要，或呈現 即將發生事 項的視覺描
述，我們讓使用者有了撤回動作或更正錯誤的機會。
預覽也可以幫助應用程式變得更具有自我描述的效果。如果有人未曾用過特定的動
作，或者不知道動作在某種特定的狀況下會如何行動，這個時候，預覽比文件更能
解釋清楚其作用 — 使用者也能在有需要的時間與地點上學習動作。
