各階層分別把其內容項目呈現為一份可選取的清單，表達出階層高低。選取任何項
目，將在下一層清單中顯示出該項目的子項目。
何時使用
當清單項目整理成階層時。階層可能很深，每個層級可能有許多項目。樹狀（大綱
式）清單或許可行，但使用者必需經常上下捲動，才能看到所有項目，而且使用者
無法同時綜覽較高層級項目的狀況。
這裡的階層可能真的是階層，像是檔案系統；也可能是概念上的階層 — 此模式常
常用來讓使用者導覽並選擇類目內的細項，或做出一連串互相有關連的選擇，如同
圖 5-34 所示的字型選擇一樣。

為何使用
藉由將階層延伸成數份可捲動的清單，可以一次顯示出更多資訊。就是這麼簡單！
當你處理複雜的資訊結構時，可視性（visibility）是很有幫助的。另外，將項目整
理成清單是種很好的組織方式 — 比起大綱格式，使用者在階層清單中可以更容易
地追蹤自己目前的位置，因為階層的每個層級都在一份良好、可預期、固定位置的
清單中。
原理作法
將階層的第一個層級，放置在最左邊的清單（清單應該採用單選）。當使用者從中
