讓使用者在不同檢視模式間選擇，不同的檢視模式在結構上即與預設檢視有相當大
的差異，而不只是外表上的不同。
何時使用
當你在建立用於檢視或編輯一份複合文件、清單、網站、地圖或其他內容的工具時，
或許你已經提供了某些客製化功能，例如調整字型大小、語言、排序次序、縮放等
級……等。但是這些細節上的調整，遠遠無法配合人們常用這些工具所做的事。
各位可能面臨了互相矛盾的設計需求。找不到同時呈現 A 功能組與 B 功能組的方
式，所以需要分開設計兩類功能的外觀，並讓使用者擇一選用。
為何使用
儘管你已經 很努力嘗試 了，仍然無 法在單一設 計中容納所 有使用者的 需求。比方
說，「列印」網站通常會遇到困難，因為列印與螢幕所需呈現的資訊是不同的 —
對於列印來說，導覽和互動用的小玩意應該要移除，其餘內容則應該要配合列印紙
張而調整格式。
其他會用到切換檢視的理由還包括：
